Our Team

Champions Dentistry Team

Dr. Reagan and Dr. Rooney have extensive training and experience and are ready to help you solve your dental problems. Whether it’s a simple check-up or a more complex case, they will make sure you understand every detail of your treatment and then perform it in a compassionate way.

At Champions Dentistry, we treat every single patient like family. Whether it’s calling to check on you after a procedure, explaining treatment to calm your anxiety or just chit-chatting about your life, we care about you as a person just as much as we care about your oral health.

Champions Dentistry Team
Dr. Shellie Reagan

Dr. Reagan

Dr. Shellie Reagan grew up idolizing her dad and spending her days at his dental practice in Dallas. She, her mom and her sister were all an integral part of the family business. Dr. Reagan has wanted to be a dentist for as long as she can remember. So, after earning her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University, she attended The University of Texas Dental School in Houston.

Dr. Reagan’s motto is “treat people as you would like to be treated.” That’s why solving complex problems for her patients is one of the best parts of her job. She truly enjoys getting to know each patient on an individual level. Whether it is implementing the latest technology, creating a comforting environment or forgiveness when you “forget” to floss, Dr. Reagan loves every single aspect of her job.

When she is not working, Dr. Reagan seeks adventure, especially outdoors. She spends many weekends with her husband at their property in Big Bend collecting rocks from hard to reach places, spotting bears and hiking. She also enjoys spending time with her two daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren.

Dr. Stuart Rooney

Dr. Rooney

Dr. Stuart Rooney likes to say that even though he is not a native Texan, he got here as fast as he could! Growing up in New Orleans, he was inspired by his childhood dentist to pursue a career in healthcare. He moved to Houston as a teenager, completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Georgia and then earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at The University of Texas School of Dentistry. Before joining Champions Dentistry in 2019, he completed a one-year residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.

Dr. Rooney loves being a dentist because every single patient has a story – and he is the lucky one who gets to hear them. He admits that dentistry is an intimate field and he can create true bonds of friendship with the people in his chair. Although it may sound cliché, the Champions team and the patients feel like extensions of his family. He quickly understood what makes Champions Dentistry so unique is the culture – and he has embraced it 100%.

Dr. Rooney can juggle a lot (literally, ask him to show you his juggling skills) and is always looking for the next problem he can solve. When he is not in the office, you can find him shooting his shotgun or spending time with his wife, young daughter and their dog.

 Kay Haggard, Dental Assistant

Kay Haggard

Kay Haggard has been a part of the Champions Dentistry family since 2007. As the treatment and financial coordinator, she might greet you as you come into the office or answer your questions about insurance, billing or treatment plans. If it is your first visit, she will welcome you and make sure all your paperwork is taken care of. Kay is also a certified Dental Assistant. The best part of her job is establishing relationships with the patients and helping them calm their anxieties. Some of her favorite memories involve the office trips the Champions team has taken together.

When she is not at work, Kay spends time with her family, two grandchildren, crafting and cooking.

Betty Hoffman

Betty Hoffman

Betty Hoffman is what you might call “the nervousness buster.” For over 25 years, she has been making patients feel comfortable when they are feeling anxious about their treatment. She assists Dr. Reagan chairside as well as coordinates orders with the dental lab. The best part of her job is when patients tell her how great their visit was and that they are no longer scared to come in. Betty always has a smile on her face and keeps the rest of the office laughing with her humorous anecdotes.

In her free time, Betty enjoys spending time with her family and (spoiled rotten) dog. Whether it is taking a trip, going on a cruise, being outdoors or just relaxing at home, you will always find Betty with a smile on her face.

Dana Mangione

Mackenzie Meyers

Mackenzie grew up in Spring – very close to Champions Dentistry! After graduating from the Houston Dental Assistant Academy, she joined the team as Dr. Rooney’s chairside assistant. She feels most proud when her hard work and positive attitude are rewarded by seeing a big smile on a patient’s face after treatment. Mackenzie is quick learning, self-motivated and creative.

Family is very important to Mackenzie, and she spends as much time with them as she can. You should also ask her about her snow globe collection and her very spoiled cat, Luna!

Jennifer Flores

Jennifer loves being a dental hygienist because she gets to help her patients understand oral hygiene and give them confidence in their smiles - which makes her smile (and Jennifer always has a smile on her face, which proves she is really good at what she does!). You will notice right away that Jennifer is self-motivated and a fantastic team player. This self-proclaimed shopaholic, coffee-addict and neat freak is also one of the sweetest and most genuine people you will ever meet.

When she is not in the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her fiancé, 2 adoptive kiddos and soon to be new baby girl!

Jennifer Howard

Jennifer Howard

When you first walk into the office, the friendly face and the beaming smile you will see belongs to Jennifer Howard, our front desk coordinator. Jennifer loves her job because she can make connections and build relationships with every single patient. She feels most proud at work when she successfully guides someone through a potentially uncomfortable, or even stressful situation. As one of the first people you meet at Champions Dentistry, Jennifer’s positive energy will create a feeling of calm and trust as soon as you walk through the front door.

Jennifer is thrilled to work in the same community where she grew up and is now raising her own family. When she is not at work or training for her next marathon, she enjoys attending her children’s activities, like baseball games and dance recitals, as well as caring for her many pets (dogs, cats and even a bunny!).
